MEMBER REPRESENTATIVE PROPOSAL
Thank you for your interest in the Executives’ Association of Fort Lauderdale (EAFL).
From a relatively simple idea, a worldwide consortium of business and professional leaders in more than 100 autonomous alliances meet on a regular basis. The sole mission is to provide timely business information to the membership, creating new business opportunities which might not otherwise exist. Adherence to that principle is the mainstay of our existence and the reason for our continuing success. Today, there are over 110 official Executives’ Associations around the world. They make up the prestigious International Executives’ Association representing over 5,000 Member Firms. Executives’ Associations are in many major cities in the United States and Canada, as well as England, Switzerland, South Africa and beyond. Since 1916, Executives’ Associations have spread from city to city, started by business men and women, sharing industry news with others, and seeking new ways to get an edge on their own competition. The Executives’ Association is a collection of companies committed to service as ‘Dependable Sources of Supply’. These companies are known by their reputation in the community and their business ethics. You may browse either by company name or company category from our website at www.ftlexecs.com.
Our Membership Procedures: The Executives’ Association is strictly by invitation only and must be sponsored by an existing member in good standing. A member firm is selected on the basis of its presence in the community. Also, among the most important benefits to members of the Association is exclusivity in one’s business classification. Therefore, any prospective firm, corporation, association or self-employed individual whose main activity or profession is not in competition with the main activity or profession of an existing member, is eligible for membership in the Association. Also, the individual representing the member firm is the owner or partner; executive, corporate officer with purchasing and/or discretionary authority; or district or local agent or branch representative in charge of such agency or branch in an executive or administrative capacity with discretionary authority. Hence, you have access to the top decision makers of the companies represented in the membership.
Our Association meets for breakfast every Tuesday morning from 7:20 to 8:30 a.m. At these breakfast meetings, Member Representatives have the opportunity to become acquainted, exchange business referrals, discuss fresh ideas, and share valuable business information. Each week, a different Member Representative makes a formal presentation about his or her business to give others an ‘inside look’ at the operation. The Thursday evening of that week, the same Member hosts a visitation, or what we call an Open House, exclusively for all EAFL members and their spouse/significant other, normally at the host Member’s place of business. This provides an opportunity for other members to gain knowledge of the entire operation in order to be better equipped to generate referrals for the host company.
Member Representatives are required, per our Bylaws, to attend at least 50% of the Association’s weekly meetings and periodic Open Houses at members’ business locations. Once a member, you would be eligible to propose an application for an Associate Representative in to the organization, as well as an Executive Professionals’ Group member. The Associate Representative will possess similar qualifications of the Member Representative, is expected to provide the same service as the Member Representative does, generate referrals, and assist the Member Representative in meeting the attendance requirements. An Associate Representative’s attendance will count as 25% of your required 50% attendance. The Executive Professionals’ Group was formed to help promote and develop business relations between members of the Executives’ Association and those within the business community as a whole. They generate referrals for our members and are an extension of the Executives’ Associations ‘sales force’. Members of this organization are the represented firm’s administrative assistant, executive assistant, office manager, supervisor, director, sales support, etc. This group meets once a month for lunch and an Executives’ Association member’s presentation.
The Assessments for Executives’ Association of Fort Lauderdale: For Member Representatives, an initiation fee of $500.00 is due with your completed application. A credit card is required to remain on file and is the preferred method of payment for quarterly dues. Arrangements can be made to be invoiced if you need to pay by check, however. Once you become a Member Representative, the dues will be $445.00 per quarter beginning on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 of each year.
